During the Annual Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) Development Awards Gala, held on December 6, 2024, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, Hima Cement was recognized with the CSR – ESG Champion of the Year Award.

This recognition underscores Hima Cement’s commitment to advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance standards throughout the scale of its operations and setting a benchmark for the construction sector through sustainable practices.

The company is focused on creating shared value for all its stakeholders and particularly, the host communities where we operate.

Hima Cement’s commitment to its host communities’ social-economic growth is highlighted in the company’s social investments, such as the Hima Cement Community Scholarship Program which serves under privileged students to access secondary school education; it’s partnerships with Auro Foundation in Tororo and SOS Children’s Villages in Kabarole for livelihoods development.

The award highlights the tangible impact of these efforts in driving social-economic growth within host communities and bringing the company’s ESG strategy to life.
