Hima Cement Ltd. has a rich history that reflects its commitment to excellence and innovation in the Uganda cement industry. Established in 1994 following the privatization of Uganda Cement Industries, Hima Cement has consistently been at the forefront of providing top-quality cement and concrete-based building solutions in East Africa.

In 1999, Hima Cement Ltd. was acquired by Lafarge, becoming a subsidiary of the Bamburi Cement Group based in Kenya.

In 2024, Hima Cement embarked on an exciting new chapter as it was acquired by Sarrai Group, a dynamic conglomerate with diverse interests in Sub-Saharan Africa. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our journey, enhancing our capabilities and reinforcing our commitment to delivering unparalleled value to our customers across East Africa.

With three state-of-the-art plants strategically located in Uganda – including the Hima Plant in Kasese, the Namanve Blending Station in Kampala, and the Tororo Grinding Station in Tororo – Hima Cement boasts a total cement production capacity of over 2 million tonnes.
