Bulange, Mengo – April 6, 2025 –The spirit of unity and celebration was unmistakable as Team Hima joined thousands of Ugandans in marking His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s 70th birthday, participating in the Kabaka Birthday Run 2025 under the banner of purpose, pride, and partnership.
As proud Gold Sponsors, Hima Cement once again stood in solidarity with the Kingdom of Buganda, demonstrating our ongoing support for the cultural, health, and social causes that shape our shared national identity.
The run, held under the theme “To Save the Girl Child and Fight HIV/AIDS”, was more than just a race. It was a countrywide movement powered by purpose — and Team Hima showed up in full force, unfazed by the early morning rain. Clad in the signature red kit, our teams took on the 5, 10, and 21 km routes, braving the weather with determination and a sense of mission.
From Bulange Menge, to the vibrant streets of Kampala, the presence of Hima Cement was more than symbolic. It was a reaffirmation of the strong relationship we hold with the Kingdom and its people.
The celebrations continued beyond the track. Hima Cement also participated in the joint thanksgiving prayers held at St. Mary’s Cathedral Lubaga, bringing together dignitaries, corporate sponsors, and faith leaders to honour the Kabaka and reflect on the shared journey of the Kingdom.
