Corporate Governance
We are consistently working towards meeting regulatory and compliance obligations, while aligning with the best practices of transparency and accountability.
Our governance system is made up of a set of mandates, guidelines, policies, and procedures conceived, implemented, and applied by our employees, business partners and society in general. These are enshrined in our Code of Business Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct
Respect for Human Rights
At Hima Cement, we are dedicated to respecting and protecting human rights wherever we conduct business. As a leading building solutions company, we recognize the critical importance of upholding human rights and ensuring that our activities positively impact the communities in which we operate. We firmly believe that this commitment is not only a moral obligation but also a key component of sustainable development. By integrating human rights principles into our business practices, we aim to foster an inclusive and fair environment for all our stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, and communities.
We regularly conduct assessments to proactively identify and address any potential negative impact on human rights arising from our operations. Our continuous monitoring and evaluation processes ensure that we fulfil our commitments and promptly take corrective actions when necessary.
Sustainable Supply Chain
We integrate sustainability into our procurement strategy and our relationships with our suppliers. We uphold our principles of respect for human and labor rights and protecting the environment, both in our business and in our work with our suppliers.
In promoting environmental stewardship and social responsibility, we recognize the significant impact that our procurement and supply chain activities can have on the overall sustainability performance of our operations. We strive to ensure that our practices align with our commitment to sustainable development, thereby minimizing our environmental footprint and maximizing positive social and economic impacts.
We engage in procurement activities that cover the complete life cycle of our products and services. This includes recruitment of vendors, obtaining raw materials and components, as well as managing the disposal or reuse of products that have reached the end of their useful life. Our goal is to incorporate sustainable procurement practices to tackle environmental issues, encourage social fairness, and contribute to economic progress.
Our main objective is to contribute to the growth of local economies and communities through various actions that improve social welfare. We achieve this by encouraging the use of local resources and actively participating in initiatives that benefit society. These efforts involve collaborating with nearby enterprises, creating job prospects and training programmes, as well as investing in projects that foster community development.
Additionally, our commitment to supporting the local economy is evident in our supplier network, where 70% of our suppliers are from local communities.
