Kilembe, Uganda – July 26, 2025 – The lush greens of the Kilembe Mines Golf Club came alive as golf enthusiasts, partners, and community stakeholders gathered for the 2025 edition of the Kilembe Open Golf Experience, a flagship sporting event in western Uganda’s calendar. Hima Cement proudly played a central role in this year’s tournament, reinforcing our commitment to supporting local communities through sport, tourism, and regional engagement.
The event unfolded against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains, attracting a diverse group of participants from across the country. As a key sponsor, Hima Cement’s involvement elevated the tournament’s visibility and created a vibrant platform for engagement beyond the fairway.
The two-day tournament featured competitive rounds of golf, networking opportunities, and community interaction, bringing together professionals, amateurs, and dignitaries in celebration of the sport and the region’s natural beauty. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the Savannah-themed 19th Hole Experience, which wrapped up the tournament with flair. Guests donned safari-inspired attire and gathered for an evening of light-hearted celebration, live music, and storytelling. The ambiance reflected Uganda’s rich cultural identity, offering players and guests a chance to relax, connect, and share stories of the day’s play.
Speaking at the event, Philemon Mubiru, Head of Marketing and Innovations highlighted the company’s dedication to promoting meaningful platforms that bring people together while unlocking regional potential.
